Follow our step by step guide

Unpack and Prepare the Printer
  • Take all packaging materials off the printer
  • Connect the power cable and switch on the printer.
  • Install the cartridge toner as according to the directions provided

Load Paper
  • Unlock the paper input tray
  • Make sure that the paper guides match the size of the paper
  • Place the paper in the tray, then close it.

Install the HP Smart App
  • Install and download HP Smart, the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer
  • Make sure you have connected your gadget to the Wi-Fi network you want to connect your printer to.

Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi Using HP Smart
  • Open the HP Smart app
  • Tap the plus sign (+) to add a new printer
  • Follow the instructions on-screen to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.

Alternative Connection Methods
🔒 Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
  • Press the WPS button on your router
  • Within two minutes after that, press and hold down on the Wireless buttons on the printer till the Wireless light begins blinking.
  • The printer will connect automatically to the network
🔌 Ethernet Connection
  • Attach with an Ethernet cable from your printer to the router.
  • The printer will instantly obtain an IP address, and then connect to the network.
🔗 USB Connection
  • Connect to your computer using a USB cable from your device to the computer
  • Follow the steps within HP Smart app. Follow the instructions in HP Smart app to complete the installation

Restore Network Settings (If Needed)
  • Click and hold on the Information button for 3 seconds.
  • Click and hold both the Wireless and Cancel buttons at the same time until the printer starts to restart.
  • The wireless light will flash and indicate that the printer is set up
